I received an email about this vest and thought I would pass this info along. It looks very well designed and made, like all their stuff. I can't post a pic because the website won't let me.....

Product page: http://www.tommysgunpack.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=TGP-028

Regular price $250, introductory price through Sunday July 26 is $100, which includes a free skeet bag. Use the coupon code SHOTGUNNER at checkout.

There was no way that it was worth $250 in the first place :?

If I was a shotgunner looking at a vest for SHTF situations, I'd probably look at the ones from FMCO. Spendy but they look pretty good.

Both the vests mentioned are a ton of money for 1992 technology.

If you're going to drop some coin on tactical gear then you should check out these places.

Speaking of 90s tech, I got to wear a similar vest (the Eagle TACV1) set up for an M4 along the banks of the Mississippi River in LA between BR and NOLA. In August/September.
Those things are freakin hot. You will sweat your butt off. I got rid of that thing pretty quickly.
There are much better ways of carrying shotshells and bunch of other gear that are much better rigs for a LOT less money.

Yeah, but I think this Pepsi generation of gear designs leave a lot to be desired though. Most of the pouches these days have velcro on the flaps that I can't stand! Folks always complain about the Garand and the "ping" of an empty clip ejecting signaling the shooter was out of ammo but the "RRRRRIIIIIIIIPPPP" of velcro on am ammo or magazine pouch being opened somehow never gets mentioned. To make matters worse, the shell pouches I've tried have a habit of flapping back shut when you remove a shell and your hand goes to the gun and away from the flap it was holding up. Sort of a "RRRRRRRRRIIIIIPPPPP!!!".....load...."RRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPP!!!"....load...."RRRRRRRRRIIIIIIPPPPPPP!!!"..... rhythm to it all. Nah, given a choice, I'd go with the old "lift-the-dot" snaps like we had on ALICE shell pouches (there's another option to look at BTW) or the silent clips like those on the ALICE M-16 magazine pouches.

I believe the consensus is now that once you've unloaded a full magazine at your foe noise is out the window and getting that next mag is more important than silence since they already know your there at that point.

That vest may be well built, but it's a bit dated to say the least.

I'm hoping to set up a vest soon, but I intend to use M4 magazine pouches and Esstac shotgun cards. That way, I can use it for both carbine and shotgun.

Right now, the 25 round shotgunner's belt and a trapshooter's pouch work just fine for me.
