Can you shoot 2.75 inch shotshells in a 3 inch chamber SAFELY?

YES,most all new guns are 3" chambers but if you got one that has to be set for 3" shells, you can still fire 2.75 safely but she may not eject them. ex auto-5 3" mag. she has to be set for 2.75" but most gas autos can handle both with no changes, ex Bretta 302

You can safely shoot a shell that is shorter than the chamber, but never use a shell that is longer than the chamber, even if the shell will go into the chamber. A 3" shell will go into a 2 3/4" chamber, but it is not safe to shoot.

All guns with 3" chambers can safely shoot 2 3/4" shells (assuming they are in good condition, of course).

Yes you can safely shoot them as long as they are shorter than what the chamber is called for. However, some older guns like the Remington 1100 Magnums wont cycle them unless you put a 2.75" barrel on with the two gas ports. Or modify your 3" barrel. Most newer guns seem to shoot them just fine.
