I have a 20 Ga side by side that has Fluss Stahl Krupp Essen stamped on the top of the barrels, the gun is in fair condition has double triggers, the stock is in fair condition and there is a forearm but it needs to be replaced the gun fires and my uncle used it for quail hunting. He got it at the end of WWll he was a medic and had two of them sent home. can any one tell me more information about the gun, and maybe its value.

I'm no expert but that info seems to say the barrels are made of Krupp fluid steel. Its not the name of the maker. Look for proof marks or other info that might indicate the maker.

Hi rmr,
what you have is – from a historical point of view – an interesting gun:
It’s a Simson Suhl (see Simson’s trademark “S in a mountain silhouette” ) shotgun proofed in the Suhl proof house in February 1926 (date marking 2/26 ). But as it has BSW on the receiver also, it probably was stored at the Simson factory for some years.
Simson was a Jewish enterprise which was made a state-owned enterprise after the Nazis came to power, i. e. in 1934 (I refer to the takeover of Simson). In 1934 the name Simson was changed to “Berlin-Suhler Waffenwerke” (Berlin-Suhl Gunworks) and BSW was used as a trademark until…. 1937, I guess, when BSW was renamed to Gustloff-Werke (after Wilhelm Gustloff, who was a Nazi martyr).
Regards
Martin

sauerfan, Thanks so much for the great informaion, My Uncle was a medic in WWll and sent two of these home from the war. having this information means alot, my brother had this gun in a closet, for years, and I had a rifle in my closet he wanted so we made a swap with the understanding the gun never leaves the family, if any one else has any information I would appreciate it very much I know the gun is pretty rough shape but any idea of a value?
