Visiting a friend today, and they gave me an old SxS shotgun that had lived in their attic. I would appreciate any help in identifying it...
It appears to be an inexpensive hardware store 12 gauge SxS hammer gun. The left side of the action is marked "RANGER" in script. Also "Pat. Feb 10, 1914". No makers mark or proof marks on the water table. Serial is 610xx. Barrel is marke "Proof Tested 12 GA". Barrels have been cut to 24" with exposed gap between barrels at muzzle. Action is shaped at front somewhat like Stevens 311. Checkered walnut semi-PG srock. Plain black plastic buttplate.
Looks like it was made in USA.
Any ideas? THANKS>
