Does anyone know any after market ghost ring rear sights that will screw right in the pre drilled mossberg receiver screw holes? IE will LPA rear sight simply screw right in to the pre drilled factory holes? How about the XS ghost ring rear, etc?

Thank you.

If not why not install a Picatinny rail and mount the ghost ring sight on that.
Mossberg sells a rail that will bolt right on and I believe LPA makes a sight to
fit the rail. Shawn I hate snow!

Sounds like a plan.....but how stable is the rear sight once mounted on the rail?

Its gotta be pretty stable if the SPX ships with one already installed? You would have to buy the front bladed sight and have it silver soldered on by a gunsmith though...that or buy an SPX barrel if they even sell them yet?

I think I would just use the stock big orange blade sight. I like that sight a lot better, anyways.

If you put the rear sight on a rail, then the front blade would likely not be tall enough.

The front sight should work fine, Greg.

So all you have to do is buy the screws and you'll be all set with the XS sight? How do you like the XS sight and how would you compare it to others such as LPA or Mossberg?

Thanks.

thats all you would have to do if you only wanted the rear sight. but youll be paying for an expensive tritium front sight as well. i cant seem to find just the rear sight for sale anywhere. it appears the mossberg front sight has a dovetail cut so you should be able to use the XS front sight on the mossberg ramp. just sand down the base with some emory cloth until it can be pressed in. one thing im not sure about is the height of the XS rear sight VS the mossberg front sight ramp.

i got the XS set because all i had was a bead sight. i like em. the tritium stripe is definitely very visible 24/7. i have no experience with the mossberg sights.

So all you needed to do to install the rear sight was to screw it in the pre existing holes? It fit that perfectly? Where did you get the screws to screw it down?

XS will (or should) have you measure your front sight blade height. Mossberg has manufactured several different heights, and they'll need to know the correct one to send with the rear.

yes all i had to do was get a hold of a couple #8-40 screws and tighten them down with a little loctite on the threads. i think they were about a half inch long. i got them from a benelli weaver rail set at dicks sporting goods. you could order them from a place like brownells or midway usa also. i wouldve done that but i dont use credit cards.
