Picked this up for inexpensive today at a gun show. My daughter needs a housegun in 20 ga.

Pump, short barrel, large magazine; looks like the ticket.

I have not seen this "type" in the past but thought it would serve her purposes!

Winchester 1200. Relabeled as the 200 for Sears. Usually priced around $200 in the condition that your photograph indicates.

Nice gun for a house gun. Not bad for upland hunting.

Thanks EV, I found a cross-reference to both the Winchester 1200 and to a Mossberg G4 (?). The stock on this one looks a lot like the one on the Winchester combat model; big, blocky, no checkering.

Thanks again.

I can tell by the trigger guard and safety it is the Winchester.

Thanks for the feedback. If this snow ever goes away we will be playing in the backyard!!!

Her only previous firearm experience has been .22LR and Thompson .45...........

The 20 gauge will be a little different for her!

I might add, I can hit better with my Ted Williams 200 12 ga with adjustable choke than any of the many shotguns I own.

The same gun in automatic, the 1400, I think still holds the world record of over 1300 straight clays by a champion in the seventies; can't remember his name. The only modification was a simmons rib.

Nice... I have a similar Sears 200 (Winchester) riot gun with ext tube. Great gun for the house or truck. I don't think you can hurt it. Nice choice. It's always good to see these guns kicking around and protecting families after so many years. I plan to pass this along to my son as it was also moved on down the line to me. Thanks also for the pic.

The Winchester has a METAL trigger guard. The Sears has a plastic one. Also the stocks are different. Parts in the receiver MAY be a little difference in size. The magazine tube cap will intercahnge The barrels are the same--BUT ---the piece on the barrel that slides over the magazine tube on the Sears IS REVERSED. It has a little leg that points toward the FRONT. On THE winchester it points toward the rear of the gun. The piece that slides over BOTH make of gun barrels OVER --the magazine tube is SOLDER onto the barrel . I hope this helps you out some. You did a good purchase. Parts alone is worth more then what you paid for it. Congratulations on your purchase.

I bought the Ted Williams semiauto with adjustable choke about 40 years ago. Haven't used it much but it is a nice looking gun. I used it part of one season right after I got it and was pleased with it. Since then, it has been a safe queen. Not that it isn't a good shooting gun. i prefer the Franchi 48 better.

It will serve the purpose you bought it for.
