Can you tell me what year the Savage Stevens Model 94F 12 Gauge was made?

I received the shotgun for my 12th birthday from my mother back in 1973 and the shotgun was old when I received it.

Stevens Model: 94F
Savage Arms
Westfield, Mass. USA (this is exactly what the gun has stamped on it)
32l in Circle on right side below company address
No Serial Number (I searched the whole gun and couldn’t find a serial number)
Inside receiver on left top inside B >>> 8

Barrel 29 ¾” (30”)
Proof Tested 12 Gauge
3-INCH Barrel Chamber
Under barrel between where it connects to receiver and fore-end I E 8

First of all, Welcome to Shotgun World!

The Stevens M94 was first produced in 1929 and was made well up into the '80's (?). The reason that your gun has no serial number is that they did not serial number their guns until they were forced to by the firearms acts in 1968. Really early guns had the patent numbers on the barrel.

Ned Fall will probably come along and be able to tell you more from the address in the barrel. If all else fails, John Callahan of 53 Old Quarry Road in Chesterfield, MA 01085 will, most likely, be able to research the gun. He charges $15 a gun.

I hope that this helps a bit and, again, welcome.

The Blue book says that the M94 was made from 1929 until 1945 and 934,000 were made. My 1980 date may be wrong. i was probably thinking of the M220 that was made until 1965, or so.

A Stevens shotgun with the Westfield address and no serial number would have been made between the time Savage moved into the Westfield facility in 1960-61, and the date when the 1968 Gun Control Act (requiring serial numbers)became effective. I would guess that date to be sometime in 1968, or maybe Jan 1, 1969, I'm not sure.
