I am looking at an exact copy of a darne 16 gauge sxs with 65mm chambers at a local gun shop. The only name on the whole gun is FOURMOND CONLIE located on the trigger guard. It has st ettienne proof marks on the barrel flats along with a few other french proof marks. It appears to be a high quality copy, can anyone help with the original maker, when it was made, worth, history etc? Thanks in advance.

Try: F.Darne Fils Aine or Darne S.A. (Bruchet)

The importer was Geofrey Gournet ( 610-559-0710) (http://www.darneusa.com). I think that they are in Allentown, PA.

The factory number in France is 001-33-477-370096

It is possible that your gun is a Bruchet.

I hope that this gives you starting point.

Let us know what you come up with. I once saw a Darne type action that was made in Italy but I can't remember the details.

A5 guy, thanks for your help, i tried several times to register on the darne/usa site but it kept saying there was an error,so i finally gave up.They have a sliding breech forum on that site that probably could have answered my inquiry.I hope somebody with darne knowledge will see this post here. thanks again
