I'm particularly wondering about the 10 Ga. turkey gun. Thanks for any info.

The H&R Topper/Pardner/Handi-Rifle/Sportster single-shots are all made in Illion. NY at Remington's plant now.

You may not find one made in NY till production catches up with current inventory. From the plant floor to the store shelf can take a while on limited production run guns.

The Pardner pump action guns are made in China. The Excel autoloader is made in Turkey.

yeah, i know. might be a crazy idea. but it's not like i'd be using it for clays or even upland birds. how often do you actually get a round off when you're turkey hunting? this spring, i didn't fire a single shot. and getting another 12 ga seems boring. how many guys do you know who have a 10 ga? which might be a bad reason to get one...

Actually, aren't ALL "Pardner" model NEF guns made in China?
I thought that was why they were always cheaper than their H&R counterparts.

I called the factory and was told that Pardners are made in Japan, everything else in the U.S. Too bad, because I was really hoping to buy an American made single shot. Does anyone know of any such gun?

The Break-Action single shots(Rifles & Shotguns) are made in Remington's Illion, NY plant, the others are made offshore.

This "Pardner" clearly says it's "Manufactured in Gardner, Ma." Ten gauge single shot! Ugly, Used and way over priced but there it is.
The new ones will have Ilion Ny. most likely.

Here is another one. No prettier either but a little cheaper.
Paying over $200 to self abuse myself is not my idea of fun.

Ok, so why then, are the Pardner single shots always priced a little cheaper than the H&R singles shots?
They appear to be identical guns (aside from what's engraved on the receiver).

I calll "foul", Grouse.
Topper can be had in "regular" stock and blued (case hardened, actually) receiver, too.
There must be another reason.

what's the difference between a "pardner" and an H&R? i thought pardner was a model of H&R?

btw, i called the factory again and this time the person i spoke to said that the single shots are made in the U.S. and the pumps are made in japan.

beside the topper junior classic all topper are nickel frames. there is a pardner that has a nickel frame but it also has a synthetic stock and screw in chokes. i did some checking and their was a topper single shot .410 and a pardner .410 and they had the same length barrel and everything the only diffrence being the topper had a nickle frame and the pardner had a blued frame the topper was 140.73 and the pardner was 130.83 so i'm assuming the small diffrence in price is that the topper has a nickle frame and painted wood
