Im shooting close to a flat a week which can be expensive including the 4 bucs a round for the clays. im shooting 12ga, i now have 3 size charge bars 7/8,1/ and 1 1/8 oz shots and several bushings. I also have about 4 pounds of alliant red dot powder, But what are yalls favorite hulls to use and favorite wads to match them i currently use AA hulls and the pink WAA wads but running low on them. What is your favorite recipe?

The Red Dot and Win AAs are good, I like 1 oz of shot for both games. 7.5 at 1250 for all around Trap and 9 at 1150 for Skeet.

My reasoning for the Trap load is that trap targets are always going away from you, you have to play catch up with them. A speedy load with larger pellets for retained energy is good to have.

For Skeet, the targets are much closer, 10 are practically coming right at your face, the 8 going straightish away are starting from behind you so they are playing catchup to you. Pellet count is more important than retained energy.

Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up. See this? This is my boomstick! It's a twelve gauge double barreled Remington, S-Mart's top-of-the- line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right for about $109.95. That's right.

One ounce of 7 1/2 or 8 in a Remington hull with a W209 and CB1100(AASL clone) and take your pick on charges of E3: 17 grains for 1200 Ft/sec, 18 for 1250 and 19 for 1300. If I want 1 1/8 at 1200 I use 17 grains of E3 in an AA with the CB0118 and go to Green Dot or Unique for 1 1/8 at 1250 or 1300.

For the components that you have most of already,

for the skeet rounds and trap from 16 yard back to probably about 19 or 20 yard line depending on what you find, there are some nice 7/8 oz 1250 fps loads listed in the alliant manual with Red Dot powder and the pink AA wad.

when you finish up the red dot you might consider switching to clay dot, it is less expensive and works at least as good as red dot if not nicer (my opinion)

and there are aftermarket wads that work really nice and are also less expensive, my favorites for the different hulls are as follows

new Win AA HS hulls downrange clones of the AA series of wads are desinged a skooch smaller and fit them hulls beatifully

for old school AA hulls and Rem STS and gun clubs the downrange XL series are very nice.

Were using

WinAA or Rem STS
17.5gr red dot
CB-0178 grey wads
7/8oz #8 magnum
Win209

Yesterday I broke 21 on 16yd trap then 20 on skeet. The loads work great on both.
