I just bought a Remington 887 Nitromag Tactical. I'm just wondering what my options are as far as after market stocks might go. Specifically, I am looking to put something like the speedfeed III style stock on the 887.

I'm not stuck on the Speedfeed. I just want ANY pistol grip that might possibly fit the 887. I know nothing about how stocks fit on guns, but maybe some of you guys can have a look and see generally what might and might not work...

Thanks guys.

I was also looking for something to shorten my new 887. I was wondering if the pistol grip off of a 870 would fit?

Maybe this picture will help if anyone has an 870 to compare it to.

not even close to an 870. Not to say one couldn't be fit, but it'd take some doing...

ATI was the same story, theirs looks like it has a little more "universal adapter kit" so I think I am going to do some trials and see if I can make it fit. If not I may be looking into making a custom mold.

I think ATI's universal adapter kit means it will fit a Winchester 1300, Mossberg 500, or 870. At least that's how it was when I bought from them a year or so ago.

Yup, but with about 30 minutes on the sander and dremel, I got it to fit.. not the cleanest, but pretty good.
I first had to sand about 1/4 and inch off the top of the remington adapter, and then dremel out the insides.

So far, there are not any after market stock options for the Rem M887. I have tried the s2ar adapter from Elite Tactical Advantage and it will not work. The s2ar might work with some milling, but doubtful. Since I live not too far from Choate Machine & Tool, at Bald Knob in Arkansas, I stopped in and asked if they had any plans to make stocks for the 887. They expressed interest in doing so, but with die costs of $50k each, plus setup expenses, they would only be willing to do so if there was sufficient demand. Might try contacting them and letting them know what style of 887 stock you are interested in, and if enough demand is there, who knows.

Can contact them at:

I know is post is old, but after looking around awhile for my 887 I found a place that has Ati stocks for the 887 model. I lucked out and got a ATI pistol grip/colapsable stock. It's pretty sweet now. I was going to get rid of the gun but glad I didn't now!
The place I found was www.rocksolidshotgun.com
Hope this helps everyone!
