My Mossberg 500 has a barrel that has been custom threaded for a 5/8-24 flash hider or muzzle break, but I can't find one anywhere! All the ones I find are for rifles and won't work with a 12-gauge shotgun.

Does anybody know where I might be able to purchase one of these? Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Thanks for the quick reply! I guess I got bad info regarding the size ....

Does any company sell threaded flash hiders or muzzle brakes for 12 gauge shotguns? I at least need a thread-protector, if nothing else!

King Armory makes one threaded model for a Saiga 12.

Here.

I don't know if the threading will match your barrel's threads. If not you might have to get something custom made or possibly have one of the other KA models tapped for the correct threads. PM King Joey (owner of King Armory) on this board and he might be able to give you a little better info. He will probably need to know a bit more about the dimensions of your barrel and the threading before he'll be able to help.

Thanks I will check with King Armory... I'm pretty sure that the Saiga models won't fit.

I'm not sure what thread your Mossberg has, if it is externally threaded it was probably a custom job. Off-hand I would guess that it is probably M22x0.75 (someone trying to put a Saiga-12 accessory of some sort on it) or maybe 7/8"x24 which is really uncommon and most Mossberg barrels aren't wide enough to fully thread 7/8" (7/8" thread has an OD of .875", most Mossberg barrels are .860-.865" OD). Got a pic of this barrel?

BTW, it's a muzzle brake, not a break.
