No one has answered your question because the is no such gun as a Savage 6670H. Check the make and model number one more time.

I find no reference for a Savage Model 6670h Foremost pump. Savage did produce some variations of the Savage Model 30 (built 1958-1978) the primary one being the Stevens Model 67.

The other Stevens variations were: 67-VR, 77, 77-AC,77-M,77-SC, 520, 522, 620, 621, 675,69-RXL and 820.

Its possible that your 6670h Foremost is yet another variation, perhaps made for a specific volume retailer (think Wards, K-Mart/ Walmart, etc.). Since no one here seems familiar with your model, how about posting some clear close-up photos of the receiver (both sides) and barrel showing all markings. That may help the regulars here to I.D. and date it and the rest of us can learn something.

Thank you for the photos although it took three of us, me, the wife and son to find them. I could not find a reference to your gun because all my references are to what I call "Trade Brand Name" shotguns, those made between 1865 and 1940. This gun was made after 1945 and is what I call a "Store Brand Name" shotgun. The "Standard Catalog of Firearms " has illustrations of the guns it lists and I was able to identify your gun. It is the same as:
A Savage Model 30 Slide Action Shotgun.
Made in 12.16 or 20 gauge and .410 bore with 26 or 30 inch barrels. The model was made between 1958 and 1978.
Values given are:
Excl-$225. V.Good-$175, Good-$150, Fair-$100 and Poor-$75.
I have no idea who it was made for but the name FOREMOST sounds familiar.

And you are very welcome. I'm glad that we could figure out what you gun is and there is no need to apologize for the pictures. I'm just as not as literate as some on the internet and sometimes forget to read everything (I call it having a senior moment. After all I'm 77.). Glad to have been of some small help.

I knew that I had heard if the FOREMOST name before and I just came across it while looking for another name. The name Foremost was used by the J. C. Penny Company. And I was right. I found the cross reference in a "Store Brand Name" listing to original maker. A J. C. Penny (Foremost) Model 6670 crosses to either a Savage Model 30 or a Springfield Model 67 which is the same gun, just with a different name.

I know it's late in the conversation but I just wanted to say I have one of the Foremost 6670H pump shotguns also. My grandfather who died in 1958 left it to me. She kicks like a mule. :)

I know this is old but I also own a Foremost Model 6670H by Savage. The information on these shotguns is very shaky as stated by a Savage engineer I corresponded with some 20 years ago but the most we were able to determine is they are not a high valuable gun. I can attest that they are a very durable and reliable gun. I used it constantly as a teenager back in the mid 70's and still use to teach my grandkids to shoot. I would Not sell for any amount of money. I plan on giving to the most interested grandchild when they are of confidence. You have a good gun keep it clean and safe.

Now this post is new for very a ancient subject...But I purchased my Model 6670H after I returned from RVN in 1968. When they say cheap guns don't last that is a lot of words that don't always hold true. You figure my gun is now almost 50 years old and has been used extensively every year in every state and 2 Providences in Canada. I can't tell you exactly
how many shells from slugs to 00 buck have run through it over the years and I have never encountered even the slightest malfunction. In the late 90's I refinished the stock and forarm
to give it a nicer look.(Little worn in places) Money was tight in 1968 but the (I believe on sale) $69.00 I spent was well worth the dreams and experiences I have had hunting with
this shotgun. My grandson will inherit this and some other cheap guns I have purchased.

Added note on purchase of the 6670H in 1968. Was at J.C. Penny in Dover, DE.
