I have a bunch of Win. 16 ga Super X high brass hulls, but I don't see any Super X specific reloading data. Lyman's mentions Winchester plastic cases with plastic base wads, which looks to be what the Super X is.

I see also loads for Win. Expert; would the Super X load the same as either of the two mentioned?

Thanks.

You need to cut one of those hulls open and identify which hull you actually have.

It also depends on how old the shells are. The new Super X hulls are actually Cheddite manufactured and can be loaded with Cheddite data. Check the base of the shell. If they have 4 stars, spaced equi-distant around the base, they are Cheddite.

Before I posted the question, I looked inside with a light at the Win. and a new Cheddite. The plastic base looks identical and ID measurements are the same, but it doesn't have the stars. The Win. high brass shells are less than a year old.

The reason I checked is I have a note in my reloading book that Cheddites load the same a Win. Expert.

The last few years the Winchester hulls have been Cheddites, but there have been 2 other styles since the late 1990's. The loading data for each will be very close if not identical.

I was being cautious, because there are also some CF hulls still kicking around and the loading data is a lot different compared to the riefenhauser/Cheddite style hulls.

Thank you. Nothing wrong with being cautious; especially on reloading.
