Anyone own one? The price is right and the gun rags seem to endorse it (what's new)? Buds has it for what I can determine is the cheapest price for a tactical semi (albeit standard capacity is only 5+1).

I have a Turkish made 1911 that mirrors the quality of the RIA guns, so that doesn't concern me.

Hatsan shotguns are sold here in the uk.....

they are like marmite.....you either love them or hate them

Heard people who have bought them loved them and would never part with them but also quiet a few the opposite who had a lot of probvlems with it failing to cycle cartridges and jamming

obviously shotguns here owned on a shotgun certificate are restricted in their capacity to 2 +1 ........not sure whether that has any impact.......do know a colleague who has a firearms certificate (this allows you to have larger magazins on shotguns as well as owning rifles) and he had a hatsan semi auto with a larger magazine, he loves his

Got two Escort semi-autos and two pumps, they've been excellent shotguns over the years. The older semi-auto is due for a small overhaul though, its eaten over 15K rounds

I own one ! Its the one on the top of the picture.

Hatsan MP-A

Its probably the only one of its kind since they dont make aftermarket adjusable stocks for them yet. The modified ATI stock is a bit ugly but it does the job for setting the LOP at 11.5 inches.

I also did a mod by putting a extended tube since I hated the bottle cap tube cover.

The round count is now around 2200 and I just finally cleaned the internals.

HI

I picked it up used. It actually didnt work at first cause the threads were for a pump Hatsan.

I had to rethread the end so it could work on the MP-A.

Took a little fiddling but it looks nicer now to me.

Folks, I recently purchased an Escort MP-A and really like it. I saw some questions concerning where to get a magazine extension tube for the Escort since Hatsan does not offer one. I added a TacStar 7 Round Extension Tube made to fit the Benelli Nova/SuperNova. The threads are the same and once you scew it all the way down, there is only one thread exposed which I covered with a number 18 O-ring. This O-ring not only covers the remaining thread but allows the extension to screw on tightly and wont loosen up during shooting. Snug the O-ring down over the threads on the gun before screwing on the extension. You can also use the original spring that came with the gun or the one supplied by TacStar. I would think that any after-market mag extension tube made to fit the Benelli Nova would also work on the Escort, but I know the TacStar woks fine. I purchased the TacStar at Gander Mountain for $49.99 and picked up a 10 pack of O-rings by Danco at Home Depot for $2.35. Although there are similarities between the Escort and the Remingtom 870, the Remington Extension Tubes don't work on the Escort because the cap is too short to cover the cap threads on the gun.

That's great information much appreciated! Would it be possible to post a few pics of the mag extension? I think I am ready to pull the trigger on this Escort model if I can assure myself of the mag extension viability of which you have seem to have established.

Good morning folks. I placed the message here yesterday regarding the TacStar Magazine Extension I installed on my Escort and have been requested to include some pics of it. I have the pics, but as a new member of the Shotgunworld forum, I am having difficulty attaching photos. When I try to attach a file, I receive a message that the file is too large. I know photos can be included as I have seen them. Can anyone tell me the secret of attaching pictures to this forum? I would greatly appreciate it and will include the pics as soon as I learn how.

Depending on the version of Escort, you can use a Benelli Nova or Rem870 extension, both require turning down and chamfering the magazine tube on the lathe for a perfect fit. Got another Legacy semi-auto that came in today, might do a step-by-step on how to do this.

Thanks to "mewall" for insight on how to post my pics of the Escort MP-A with the attached TacStar magazine extender. I used Photobucket to include 4 pics. Please note the size 18 O-ring between the extender and the magazine shaft. It looks factory and wont come loose. I saw a note from "kingjoey" referring to the use of a lathe for the best fit and I agree that it probably is. You would need to work more on trying to fit the Remington extender than the Tacstar for Benelli. However, I have no lathe and the TacStar solution looks and functions great, wont come loose and requires zero modifications to the Escort. Please advise if anyone cannot get to the pics by copying and pasting the link below. Good luck!

Vetteman08--Outstanding looking tactical shotgun and excellent from what I can tell on the extended mag tube as well. To me, the Escort's price relative to the very good reviews I have read make this a must have for the budget conscious consumer (and who among us in this current environment isn't?). But when I look at a tactical semi the mag capacity is key for me (that's why I passed on the M4 which I so desperately wanted--$200+ for an extended mag piece). Suffice it to say, the ability to extend the Escort's magazine capacity makes this my next tactical purchase. Thanks once again for the info/pics.

-Cheers

Your certainly welcome "mewall"! I am very pleased with my Escort and the price point is great. I agree with "kingjoey" about the stock magazine cap looking tacky. The extension looks much better and gives you those extra 2 rounds. Good luck with your purchase.

Very nice set up !

I would like to ask - where-how did you get that modified cocking lever ? It looks perfect for gloved and or large hands.
