Does anyone have information on when or if Remington is going to offer VersaMax with wood?

I haven't heard anything official, but looking at the design, especially the forearm, which is wide at the back to accomodate the gas system, and as thin as possible to keep it from being too wide, I don't see the design lending itself to the vagaries of wood. (The forearm of the Synthetic Competition is noticeably thinner than the wood forearms.) There's too much potential for breakage. That said, the stock has more adjustment features than any other I've played with and it is durable, so maybe its time to try a synthetic? I quite like them.

Dave, I think it could be done, but the for-end would have to be glass bedded on the inside to reinforce the thin wood.
I may be wishing for a passenger pigeon here, but i sure hope they pull one out of their hat in either a 16 or 20 gauge.
