I purchased a cz 712 after shootin them a bit at game fair. Within a month i've had 2 pieces break on my gun, along with constant jamming. First off the gas piston split into 2 pieces, and after calling cz they gladly sent me a new one in the mail. Then a week later the action handle, to pull the bolt back, broke off while shooting. The piece is now stuck in the gun and I am required to send it back in under warrenty. This will take "atleast 4-6 weeks", meaning i wont have my shotgun for the rest of the season. I am extremely dissapointed with CZ's quality, and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

That is too bad, the 712 has had some problems in the past, but were supposed to have been worked out. Obviously they still have some work to do. I have 3 CZ's and close to 20,000 rounds through them with only 1 breakage, on the 912, none on the others.

I was told by a rep. at the game fair to get the 712 over the 912 because they are actually the better of the two. Maybe i just got a lemon. but either way my gun has been sent back and i hope what i get back is better than the first.

I have never handled the 712, but I do love the fit and handling of the 912, but it is not without its issues, hopefully they are just new model problems and get resolved quickly. My 912 was turned around in 4 weeks, I hope yours is just as fast.

There seems to be a lot more positive than negative reports on the 2000, the biggest complaint I have heard is you have to work the action a lot to wear it in, other than that they seen to be a reliable gun. Best of luck with it. :D :D
