I recently bought a Mossberg 500 and was looking to put a pistol grip stock on it. I have found two that seem to be very similar and was wondering if anyone has any opinions as to which is better.

1. Speedfeed IV Tactical Stock Set
http://www.srtsupply.com/pages/firearms%20accessories/speedfeed.htm
2. Advanced Technology, Inc. Pistol Grip Buttstock
http://www.atigunstocks.com/SHTSTOCK.html

The Speedfeed stock costs almost $30 more but comes with a new forearm. Also, are there any downsides to putting a pistol grip stock onto the gun? I have the gun for home defense, but also use it to shoot trap. If anyone has any experience with either of these products (or similar ones) I would love to hear about it. Thanks.

Personally, I love my speedfeed IV stock on my 870, It feels and shoulders great. The stock is very solid and very comfortabe (even after several boxes of slugs and shot.)
I can't say anthing good or bad about ATI, but I do know that I wouldn't want to trade my speedfeed. You might also consider the differences in the length of the stock or the length of pull (which one fits your frame better.) I have also heard mention of gaps between the reciever and stock, and the trigger guard and pistol grip.

You might even do a search on the board for Speedfeed etc... and see what information comes up.

Hope this helps...

Taylor

I bought the ATI fixed full length pistol grip stock and currently have it on my 870 Rem express. It is crap and i wish i never bought it. If you notice in the pictures of the ATI that there are adaptors at the top of the pistol grip. Those are becuase that one stock is built to fit both the moss and the rem models. Problem is that those $#@%6 adaptors make the whole back of the stock wiggle from left to right and no matter how tight toy tighten the bolt it will still shift on you. It cant be good for aim. I just ordered a speedfeed stock (notice on those stocks they have individual numbers for different guns and no adaptors) last night.

ATI might be better than speedfeed on mossbergs. It looks like speedfeed pistol grip is too far from the trigger compared to the ATI .
