Are there M4's with the "REAL" collapsable stock available now?

Does anyone know?

Yes, they are, in a way...

You first have to buy the Benelli M4 Law Enforcement (LE) version (not the M1014). This is Benelli's Part No. 11707. It comes with a non-collapsible stock. WARNING: if you buy any other M4/M1014 variant that is NOT Part No. 11707, the recoil tube will NOT accommodate the collapsible stock. See next paragraph.

You also have to buy Benelli Part No. 70085, which used to be the number for their skeletonized, non-collapsible stock, but now it designates their true collapsible stock. It locks in either an extended position or retracted position, and that's it. It won't fit the M1 or M3, because of the design of the recoil tube. NOTE: Benelli will NOT sell you (or their dealer, so far as I know) a separate M4 LE recoil tube so that you can retrofit your non-LE M4 or M1014 (or M1 or M3, etc.)

If you want the 2-round mag extension, it's Part No. 81043P.

11707 - about $1200
70085 - about $175
81043P - about $70

As far as legality, evidently Benelli has resolved this, at least internally. In summary, I think it's because the M4 was not on the ATF's import ban list (M1 and M3 were), so mods to this gun are not in violation of the 1989 import ban or the Assault Weapons Ban (at least now that it has expired). Still trying to confirm all this, but I'm sleeping better after my own research.

The above info was gathered over several weeks of talking with Benelli, several dealers, and others on the AR15.com and Benelli forums. Just hope to save you LOTS of time frustration having to figure all this out the hard way.

Thank you very much! Your time and effort are truly appreciated. I can't believe the nuisance laws and rules that we allow in this country!

ISN'T THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE M4 LE GUN AND THE M4 / M1014 GUNS IS THAT THE M4 LE HAS A COLLAPSABLE STOCK ? ALSO I BELIEVE THE ACTUALLY STOCK ON ALL 3 GUNS ARE THE SAME. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IN THE ALL 3 GUNS BESIDES THE ENGRAVED U.S. FLAG IS THE RECOIL TUBE. CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG.......

I ALSO OWN A M1014 AND WOULD LOVE TO FIND SOMEONE TO MACHINE A GROVE IN THE RECOIL TUBE.

I haven't noticed any yelling here and I don't care what is cool. I simply want to be able to purchase a fully functional product built the way it was intended to operate and capable of operating at its full ability and designed versatility without having "Nuisance Laws" wasting everyone's time and money. I'm sure eventually you will be "allowed" by the Freedom Police to have a V8 engine in your truck, but you will only be "allowed" by the socialist powers at be to run it on 4 cylinders lest you speed or pollute.

Magnum P, please try disassembling your M1014, and attempt to remove the recoil tube behind the receiver. Does it come off? How is it attached?

I was told (not by Benelli) that the recoil tube on the M1014 cannot be removed, and that may be why Benelli does not offer the M4 recoil tube as a replacement so that the collapsible stock can be installed. Just passing on what I heard...

GUEST , JUST LOOKING AT THE MANUAL IT SHOWS THE RECOIL TUBE AND THE RECEIVER AS TWO PARTS. THE RECOIL TUBE IS TREADED AND HAS A NUT TO LOCK IT DOWN. MY STOCK HAS THE RELEASE BUTTON TO LOCK AND UNLOCK FOR COLLAPSING. I'M GUESSING ALL THAT IS NEEDED TO CONVERT IT IS THE LE TUBE.

I HAVE ALREADY ADDED THE MAG EXTENSION AND HAVE ORDER A STANDARD STOCK FOR IT.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE SAIGA 12 WILL BE AVAILABLE WITH A PISTOL GRIP STOCK OR A FOLDING STOCK ?

I am going to manufacture one (after I check on the rules). I plan on offering it at a reasonable cost. I see quite a demand, so stay tuned.

Magnum -

In most online forums, typing in all caps is interpreted as YELLING. Folks might think you're upset and misunderstand what you're trying to say.

Some folks also find all caps harder to read.

I know where one is that needs to move ASAP, and no, it's not mine.

It's not pointless to people trying to locate these stocks. Benelli will not jeopardize the "sporting purpose" status of their imported semi-automatic shotguns. Benelli still restricts the sales of the M4 collapsible stock kit #70085 to LE or to vendors who agree to restrict sales of them to LE. Nevertheless, it is legal for a civilian to buy #70085.

Other than the occasional sale of a single C-stock by a private individual, I can find no other source for the stocks except from Revelation13 and his associate Delmasfina on GunBroker. When I checked their feedback, I found that still in the GB system last 90 day history, Revelation13 has sold seven of the M4 C-stocks and his associate Delmasfina has sold eleven of them. Considering that I found them selling nothing but the M4 C-stocks and the Benelli full-length magazine tubes, and that between them have been 858 completed sales, it is possible that they have sold dozens if not hundreds of the M4 C-stocks.

Remarkable to me, most of their sales still in the system were for $499. A few sold for $399 and one sold for $800. While this buying behavior may be baffling to us, it is not pointless to those who are trying to find the M4 C-stocks.

I believe that Revelation13 and his associate Delmasfina on GunBroker are:
HIGH IMPACT TACTICAL FIREARMS AND ACCESSORIES
40 N. CENTRAL AVE.
UPLAND, CA. 91786

Just to summarize this thread, the M4 C-stock #70085 can only work correctly with Benelli M4 Law Enforcement version #11707.

By the way, welcome to the Basement, Revelation13.
