Just out of curiosity, what happened to them, why was production halted?

I heard they shut down that assembly line to build the Gold Label. Bought my Trap gun for 2,000.00

I talked to a lady at Ruger some time back and she told me that from the beginning, they were intended as a limited run "specialty" gun.

Here's a story on them from when they were new: http://www.outdoorlife.com/outdoor/gear ... 13,00.html

My understanding is that the model didn't sell well at all, and was discontinued. The straight rifling idea is pretty neat though.
