Curious from the locals in Oregon if there are any special things you do to ensure no rust development on your shotguns due to the higher humidity levels?

I will be cleaning it every single time after firing regardless of total rounds fired. That was how I was taught so I'm planning on sticking with that.

Do people add any humidity control devices for storage?

Any feedback would really be appreciated. I'm originally from the Midwest so humidity wasn't as big of a concern.

Never had much of a problem with rust, but guns are stored indoors (not in the garage or a vehicle), keep everything wiped down and well oiled. Welcome to Oregon.

Thanks so much ch139. Been out shooting a couple times already at a local club - trap only. So far the cleaning seems to be processing standard. Though the first rounds I put through it were definitely filthy...I will not be buying those again. My reloader should get here this week and that will help! (Crossing my fingers).

Any advice on folks to get reloading supplies from in the Portland area?

Thanks a bunch!

If your looking for reloading supplies I would look into Connie's components. They are in centralia Washington. If you give them a call they travel around to lots of clubs and shoots so a lot of times they can met you at a club and save you the shipping. Great people. Tami runs the shop. 360-736-6578 or 360-388-6021. They are outta town for the holidays about another wk but they'll be back shortly.
