I've always been one to go completely against the grain. When my buddies were buying full size four wheel drive trucks, I bought a four wheel drive Toyota Tacoma.
The same has stood true with my firearms choices as well. Everyone I shoot with loves their Glocks, I rave about my M&Ps. That's not to say I haven't owned a Glock, I did, but traded it for my first M&P.
With that said, about a year ago I set on an adventure to pick a new shotgun both to take place of my 24 year old Mossberg 500 that my 14 year old son now uses. I've been all over the map, but kept coming back to the Turkish guns for their value. Of course there are those who say they are cheap junk, but many of us, CDB for one, can shoot holes through that theory all day every day. Since CZ-USA/Huglu has a decent following, I wanted to try a slightly less traveled path. That search lead me to the Escort line of shotguns made by Hatsan, and imported by Legacy Sport International in Reno, Nevada.
What I found was that these guns aren't the easiest to come by, especially locally. After a few calls I tracked down a left over 2010 model with Avery Killer Weed 1 camo, the same basic gun as the Waterfowl Extreme that now comes in Realtree camo.
For $500 I got what I deem an absolute steal! I haven't shot it yet, but plan to this weekend, at least to pattern it.
Following are the initial pictures with descriptions.

This thing came with more bells and whistles than a freight train in Pakistan!

Very Nice, seems everybody but moi is getting a new gun for Christmas. I guess I'm still working off the early season gun purchase and am not yet able to figure out how to get one more under the tree.

This one was a very long time coming. But I'm happy with it so far. Tomorrow I plan on patterning it. Cleaned it tonight, not to bad for having sat on the shelf for over 2 years. Very much like a 391 inside.

Volstandigkeit, looks like a great Waterfowl gun, and appears to be very similar to my ATA made Luger (minus the camo stock). Congrats! :D

It's not a "steal" until it outperforms your expectations, and you haven't even shot it yet!

Took the gun put to check point of impact. Shoots about 6" left. Only had time to run 6 Winchester 3" #3s through it but am happy with how it felt. Off to find some rabbits or pheasants tomorrow.

Definitely! Got some this afternoon getting my F-I-L's atv out of an 8" drift. Won't be doing that again anytime soon!

To much last minute shopping to do today go hunt. But, I grabbed a couple Federal target loads, couple Prairie Storm 2 3/4" #4s, and a couple Blind Side 3" #3s. Mixed up one of each for myself, and the same for my son. 15 degrees out when we did this and it never missed a lick. And the Prairie Storm loads kicked more than the Blind Side rounds.
Haven't hunted with it yet, nor have I been to the trap range. But I can comfortably say that I'm pleased with the gun to this point.

I haven't had an opportunity to look at one up close, but the price is good.

Not the best day in the field. Second group of birds came in, and my second shot of the day was all she wrote. Talked to Legacy and was told it is covered. Just need to call their service center in Tulsa Wednesday and get an RMA.

Hmm, that just kinda sucks, can't actually see what broke, but I'm glad they are ready to stand behind it and pay to have it sent to them for repair. It will be interesting to see what the turnaround time is. Well, I'm off to work! :( :(

I'll see if I can get a little better picture before I shop it off. I'd thought about doing the repair myself, but I'm wondering if the barrel might have gotten dinged after looking at it.
