For those of you who might not be familiar with this....

Every year, the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show is held in Feb in Harrisburg, PA. PA is my home state, and I often go there. It takes all 5 buildings of the Farm Show complex.

After Sandy Hook, the show management, Reed inc, out of Connecticut, decided to ban AR-15 type weapons from the show. Last year, the Tactical section was one of the most popular at the show.

After many NRA members contacted the NRA, demanding the NRA take a position against Reed, they finally came out last week and issued a statement of non-support.

In addition to many vendors and long-time show-goers saying they would not attend, yesterday the NSSA also pulled out of the show.

Today, after a huge backlash from gun enthusiasts vowing to not support the show, Reed management decided to "postpone" the show.

I am glad the NSSA took the position and withdrew from the show!!

We need to stick together. Good job NSSA. NO matter what faction of the gun industry is attacked all should pull out in a show of unity.

The outfit that made the decision to ban MSR's and puts on the ESOS is Reed, a British corp. The NSSF runs the annual SHOT show - but Reed manages the show. FYI

Methinks someone has the "NSSA" (National Skeet Shooting Association) confused with NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation).

no, the NSSA posted their withdrawal from the ESOS on their facebook page yesterday.

The NSSF is also on Reeds case because of the ESOS debacle.

NSSA was going to be there? Wonderful. I wonder if that is your extra penny a target in fees at work.

I'd be interested to know the workings behind it, but I would think they had a PA or ZONE II rep ready to attend, and man a booth. Probably little cost, other than the booth, and I am all for NSSA reaching out and trying to extend membership and promote the sport.
