While waiting on my made in Connecticut "2Few" brand 16 gauge shells to go into full production I figured I'd pick up a flat of #6's and a flat of #8's. There had been a 3rd choice of 7.5's, I believe, but when I went back to order the shells that one was no longer listed. Since I'm using the shells in a light upland 6.5 lb Spanish sidelock I think the 1165 ft/sec 1 oz load is ideal for the gun. I'm not likely to be going after geese with this gun. I do hope that Cabala's sees a huge volume of 16 gauge shell orders and thereby starts to sell more brands and loads in this gauge. Fits in with their 16 gauge Dickinson guns too.

OBTW, I also got flat rate $5 shipping for my 2 case order using a Cabela's Club Card discount code.

If they had 20 ga #6's, I'd order a flat or two, but they don't...

I ordered a case of their dove loads and a case of their target loads. The dove loads I got are 1 oz 7.5 shot 1250fps and the target loads are same except 1290 fps. Should get them tomorrow or Friday. I was hoping to see some 6 shot available for the larger Eurasian doves but these should work just fine. Thanks for posting this deal up.

I ordered 3 flats of the dove load AND shot 1 flat. I have to say they work well. I had one shell that was miss-shaped enough it didn't want to load but I think that was because my wife dropped the flat.

Cabella's also SAID they have 22lr rounds at a good price but when I went to order them they said they were out of stock (tears in my eyes are beginning to make it hard to talk about it now).

.22LR ammo is starting to show up locally. Most of the stuff that I've purchased lately has been CCI standard velocity and has been going for about $5/box of 50 or $10/plastic box of 100. Still not "on the shelf", but if you look at the right times you can find it.

OBTW, my 16 gauge ammo arrived today.

As an OBTW, the Herter's 16 gauge shell's box says that they were manufactured in Italy. My first guess would be maybe Cheddite, B&P or Fiocchhi. There's stars on the shell's brass so is that a Rio hull??? Would be nice to know for those reloading them.

During a walk though to check out the ammo at some of the Walmarts, I have found several stores carrying solid point 22s and plenty of #7.5 and #8s shells. What I haven't been able to locate is hollow point 22s and #6s in shotgun shells. The shells are $5.99 but 22 ammo has gone through the roof with economy solid points at $6.99 for 50.

The closer we get to dove season, we will see ammo being back to where it was a year ago, IMO. Time will tell.

Our local gun shop has .22lr subsonics @ $4, unlimited nuumber of boxes. .22lr @$6 and a limit of 100. And .22 shorts for the same. The subsonics have been working with the bolt-action, and my buddy said that they were even cycling through his semi- auto handgun.

I found 12 and 20 ga Winchester Steel #7.5 and #8 at Gander in De Forest, WI this past weekend. $75 for 250.

.22L's are available at my LGS, but .22LR's are very hit or miss.

I didn't even know they still made 22 Longs, I haven't seen them in probably 30 years.

Still around.

Today I found 1000 small pistol primers at the LGS.
