Hi

Well Picked up one of these today
Image

Got it home and after fondling it for a while I became concerned it looked like the hammers were not connecting with the firing pins. So I grabbed a box of 5 12gage slugs and went to my local indoor range (they only allow slugs fired in shotguns) So I stood there broke it open and loaded two closed pulled the trigger and well for the want of a better word BOOM. This was actually my first time firing a shotgun. never felt recoil like that in my life. But i have to say the group of 5 slugs was only 5 inches apart on the target.

needless to say it works fine. Damn glad I bought a recoil pad to go with it

If I remember right the hammers are just for show. They do not actually make contact, the actual firing mechanism is internal.

Slugs can be pretty wicked. I use a lead sled when sighting in my shotgun for deer season. I am glad to hear everything is ok with the gun.

MOST hammers are of the "rebounding" type. They do NOT hit the firing pins except when fired from full cock, and then "rebound" back a little for safety reasons. Being in direct contact with the firing pins by the hammers when not actually firing is a good way for accidents to occur....

actually, Norinco makes some very solid guns. I had one of their SKS.

The range guy explained that Slugs are easier on the back wall of the range then either buckshot or birdshot is.

I didn't realize that at first but now I see the point of rebounding hammers
