I was in a shop today where I have bought many a gun, and I picked up this old single shot in 20 Ga. solid rib. Reciever says
"Western Field Model 19"
I cannot find a Model 19 in any of the cross-reference lists. In case the 9 looked like a 4, I checked it, but the Model 14 was a bolt action. Very unique old Western Field, but I am trying to identify the manufacturer & model. Anyone ever seen or heard of this model?? It is shaped somewhat like a Stevens 94, but reciever is much different and longer on the 19.

I can't find it either, if it were me, I'd be looking in the direction of Mossberg....

It's Very likely an Iver Johnson, If it was a hammerless model It could be an Ithaca made Long Range Field and Trap. Cheers.. Bushrod

bushrod, before you posted, I was coming to the conclusion that is is a Iver Johnson Champion. Your post makes me think it is. I am going to print out a schematic od an IJ and compare to gun at shop. I may get it. it needs a new stock and forearm. Barrel is 3" chamber & solid rib. Thanks
