First of all I am not talking any trash on the 1300 over all. I'm just trying to figure out what is wrong with mine. First of all i bought it from walmart, not that there is anything wrong with buying a gun from walmart. But the walmart in the town I live has a bad rep. when it comes to customer servise and taking care of their products. So that could be one reason for my troubles. So im stupid for getting it there. Now to the problems, when i bought the gun at walmart i got the one that was on the showroom floor(it was the last one they had???) I looked it over pretty good or so i thought, checked it for dings, made sure it worked right and made sure all 3 choke tubes were in the boxs. Well when i got it home i gave it a good cleaning and oiling and i noticed a few dings i hadn't seen in the store. I also saw some scraches in the receiver. This buged me alittle bit but what bugged me the most was that my full choke was bent alittle on the end that goes in the gun, and my mod. choke would only go in half way really smoth then i would have to use the wrench. My ImP. Cylinder went in nice and easy all they way. Ok after i fixed all that. after a few weeks it stoped sliding as smoth, the problem was that the slide arms had bent just a bit and one was coming of the Breech bolt slide. Now im really careful about how i treat my guns, i tret them like babys. But i was breaking it all the way down every time i had cleaned it, so even though i was really careful i might have done something to cause this problem. So i order some new slide arms and every thing was fine. I stop taking my gun all the way apart every time i shot it. (I did it about every 3 times or so.) and i was exta careful. But today after i was cleaning it the slide arms have started to bend again. Im thinging about getting a new part and fixxing it then trading it off and getting a wingmaster. I just dont know if i want to risk getting another 1300 again and having the same problems. Has any one else had these problems? Are 1300 Slide arms weak? Or am i just doing something wrong? Or did i just get a 1 out of 1000 bad gun? I really need some advice!!!!!

That's a real disappointing story. Of course, the problem is with Winchester, not Wal-Mart. In fact, most sporting goods stores do not offer any after-the-sale support for firearms, other than sending the gun back to the manufacturer for you.
Other SGW members have mentioned problems with 1300 choke tubes not fitting properly. You are not alone.
I am a big fan of pump action shotguns, and currently own a Winchester Model 12 and a Remington 870 Express. I've looked at several Winchester 1300s recently, but their quality seems to vary significantly from gun to gun. If I ever find a "good" 1300 Sporting/Field model, I'd probably get it.
Contact Winchester on Monday - their warranty should provide you some relief. Be sure to give us updates, too. Good luck!

I would contact Winchester about the problem that you are having with the slide arms. I have not had that problem with mine, and I bought mine at Wal Mart. So I really dont think that has anything to do with it.
Also I have not had any problems with the chokes not fitting correctly. ever since the day I got my 1300 they have worked flawlessly. only use the wrench to tighten down or loosen them.
You may have just got a lemon. Give Winchester a call, see what they have to say.
Mike.

I just got mine a few days ago but I've put a few rounds though it it works fine (and yes its from walmart). I had a friend over and we cleaned it and cleaned it again, I couldnt beleve all of the dirt from the packing grease. The thing that I found the worst was the stirafoam in the gun. Mine is a 20 ga. and I put 8 shot through it fine. I guess you just have to find yourself a Wed. gun.

1300 problems?
Lets start with the rotary bolt!!!!!!!!!!!!! It gets dirty and gummed up then its certinly no "speed pump". Once it gets gummed up you cannot completly clean it out. I know 2 people of which is me)who got rid of theirs for this reason. I also know 1 person who loves his.

Back in my college days I worked part time at Walmart in sporting goods. Sold a bunch of Mossbergs and Remington 870 Expresses but VERY few Winchester pumps. Still, I can't recall ever having a Winchester returned for malfunctioning (can't say the same about Mossbergs). I would send the gun back to Winchester for repairs.

The dings, scratches, dents, and bent parts are result of the gun being a floor model. I have never bought a gun that was a floor model for that reason. I hope that you straighten out the situation you are in.
