Has anyone shot at least 1 round with this gun? Comments, thoughts, please? It looks good and the price seems good.

I shot one this weekend. It is a beautiful gun and I really liked the way that it shot. The guy was shooting light load gun clubs and it was not wanting to cycle them. I put some of my Rem Nitros in there and it cycled them beautifully, and it didn't kick much even with those heavy target loads. He did have the gas ports dialed down for light loads (not for sure how this is done on this gun). If you shoot a heavier target load it does just fine. I did break quite a few birds with it in sporting clays. I may even have to buy one someday.

I have a 712 raptor that cycles 1 oz loads with no problem. Gun points and shoots well, low recoil for a pretty light gun(7.25 lbs.). I don't love the way it loads, you must pay attention but it holds 5+1 and that is nice.

The one I shot was brand new, right out of the box. Maybe that had something to do with it not cycling. Just needs to be broke in!

That is exactly why I just bought one about a month ago and it took about 100-150rds to break in good with heavy loads. Now it cycles great with 1oz loads no problems. It is a great gun! Highly recommended. Oh yeah it is georgeous too. the wood they are using and yes it is wood is awsome.

I bought a 712 raptor about mid-month. I have been to the trap range and shot about 200 rounds. It is a super nice gun. I like the way it points and the way it shoots. It cycles the low-brass shels well now.

Any reviews on the 612 apply to the 712. They are the same gun except for some apperance differences. They are a great gun for their price.

Worc,
I agree mechanically they are the same but I believe that Franchi has tried to make the 712-720-raptor a step up in class. If you look at the wood that they have been using it is a better quality than any wood I had ever seen on a 6-class gun. Of course I could be wrong all together just an xpression of opinion.

I have to agree with you matty98 that the 7's have nicer wood than the 6's. Again it's only apperance though.
