Generaly ATA has good quality shotgun production. I am just doesnt like in sporting shotguns barrels has no any gaps. This is make problem during side wind. But generaly this is good and competitive gun.

ATA makes the SA-08 for Weatherby. I've used mine for four years. Nice gun, well made and reliable.

Academy Sports sells ATA in semi-autos’ . I’ve checked them out and chose not to buy one . Weird gun , part of the recoil reduction is due to the barrel actually moving back and forth with a recoil spring built in the forearm . Darndest thing i ever seen . But it’s a great looking gun . Never shot one tho .

Don't know who sells the 686 SP specifically, but isn't the Weatherby Orion sporting the same gun rebadged?

Are you serious? I’m not familiar with that Turk gun and don’t plan to buy any Turk made Guns; but if you are talking about a long recoil action - this is a standard and proven semi-auto action used in every Browning Auto-5; many Remington and other clones of it; and certain Franchis.

Certainly not the “darn seat thing I’ve ever seen” - I use Auto-5 Browning’s as my favorite waterfowl and Pheasant Guns.

Not sure about the Weatherby being same but I’ll take your word for it.

I sent an email to EAA, the importer for ATA Arms, and this is the reply I got. The email was date 3/16/18.

“Hi Joe,

We have our first shipment on the way. I'd say a couple of weeks before it gets out to distributors.

Sincerely,
Clay (EAA / ABDO”

I'm fairly sure they make the Element for Weatherby (same as their Neo) as well, and after about a year and pushing 2000 rounds on the skeet field, it's been flawless. Well put together too - good fit and finish.

I haven't thrown it in the bottom of a duck boat or dumped it in a swamp, but it's holding up well and hasn't missed a beat.
