Sorry guys of these instructions are posted elsewhere, but I'm on my cell phone and can't figure out how to do this.

Currently, I receive an email each time there's a reply to a thread I'm subscribed to. Since I regularly check my subscribed threads, I don't need the email.

How do I turn the emails off?

Thanks

I THINK this is how you do it.

Click on User Control Panel (upper-right of screen), select Board Preferences, select Edit Posting Defaults, under the heading "Notify me upon replies" select the "NO" button, click "Save" at bottom of page. That should do it..... I think. :)

Notifications are the main reason for subscribing to topics. You can unsubscribe and save those topics as a bookmark. Then you can check your bookmarks without the automatic notification.
Or you could simply [url=http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/search.php?search_id=unreadposts["Read Unread"[/url]" and then look for the topics that you have participated in. This indicates you are participating Image

I do most of my forum reading on my cell phone, this forum is best read with Ohub Campfire. Strange name, but it works. It doesn't seem to support Bookmarks, at least I can't find it.

I've got things set so that I auto-subscribe to any thread I reply to, that way any topics I'm actively participating in show up in the Subscribed list. When I no longer want to keep up with that thread, I unsubscribe to it. Those threads are listed in the Participated list, but I don't always want to see the Participated threads mixed in with the Subscribed threads.

It's okay, I can just continue to delete the emails. Sometimes the emails are useful if I'm anxious about seeing a reply to a question. Sometimes I may see the email before I see the thread.

I did not make that screen grab. I can do it, but probably the longest most difficult way and that is without the fancy annotations. That is not in my skillset.

I quit subscribing to them for the same reason a long time ago.

Usually I just click on "view active topics" or "view your posts" (interestingly this is called an "ego search in the HTML address)

Jerry, I have a great screen-grab program called "SnagIt!", but it's $50. It lets you "grab" anything on the screen and then add circles, arrows, annotations, even drop other screen-grabs on top of it. We mostly use it at work (I'm in IT).

If you're using Windows 7 or 10, there's a neat & FREE feature called the Snipping Tool.

In Windows 10:
* Press the Windows key.
* Type in "snip" - you will see the Snipping Tool app.
* You can run it from there - just click it - or,
* If you want to add it to your desktop, right-click on it, and choose Pin to Start.
* Now that it's on the Start menu (the big thing with square shotcuts), you can add it to your Desktop by left-clicking the Snipping Tool, hold on to it, and drag it to your Desktop. * This is the easiest way I know of to create a Desktop Shortcut.
* Run the Snipping Tool - click New. Your screen will turn gray.
* Hold your left mouse button down and drag a box around something. It will "grab" that image into memory. Add annotations you want, but the tools are limited.
* Press Ctrl-C to copy the image and then Paste it (Ctrl-V) elsewhere.
* Or, save the image and upload it to somewhere like PhotoBucket, so you can use it on the forum.

In Windows 7, it's found in Start > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool. Use it the same way as above.

Yes, it doesn't matter which browser you're using, the Snipping Tool will grab whatever's on the screen and allow you to paste it elsewhere, or save the "snip" as a file. It's a cool and free tool that many have not heard of.

The yellow highlighter within the Snipping Tool is probably the best way to emphasize whatever it is within your screen grab you're trying to make a point of. The highlighter is located to the left of the eraser, on the toolbar.

Yup, you can also capture the entire screen by pressing "Print Screen" - or, just the current "window" you have open by pressing Alt-Print Screen (hold down Alt, then press Print Screen).

You can then Paste (Ctrl-V) the image into another program such as an email, MS Word, Paint, etc...
