I don't know if I'd go so far as to call the 11-87 junk, they are used successfully buy many people year after year.. kinda outdated design, not as versatile as other designs but far from junk.

I agree, it's a little harsh to call the 11-87 junk. They have been and continue to be a viable option for many customers of Big green. I am not a big Remington fan. I currently do not own any Remington guns. I would never own an 870, but I won't call them junk. I will consider the model 11-87 walnut version, the next time I want to pick up a 20 gauge semi auto. I would also consider the 1100. Used or new, they are both fine options. May not be something some will consider, but far from being junk.

Regards,
Joe
