I hope I don't offend anyone, not shotgun:
I have a type one grade 2 Browning Bar the checkering on a small place of the forearm is crushed and can't be repaired. I am trying to find a stock maker who can remove the crushed checkering match color and replace the crushed piece. the rifle is a 67,or 68 made and in very good condition. beside the checkering is 98-99% the crushed part is approx. 1" + or -. does anyone know or can do it themselves? I need a pro to fix the chekering.

Thank you

I have seen some of Doug's work in person. Checkering was involved and it looked great.

Yep...another happy customer. Doug redid a Citori stock for me, including re-cutting the checkering. Could not be happier.

Count me in re Doug Carpenter. He's refinished a couple of stocks for me and repaired a forend, and can do what you need. Plus, his prices are most reasonable. Call him at (440) 479-1476 or e-mail him at D.Carpenter@ccgunstocks.com

P.S.: I had an early Belgian Browning BAR in .30-06. It was a fine gun and I killed my first deer with it.

Wow thanks guys, those are nice words.

I spoke with rsr1950 this evening and we’ll see what we can do to straighten out his problem.

Thanks, Doug
