I've decided to get back to shooting - Skeet & sporting clays
It seems that longer barrels have been gaining popularity - I have had 30" Browning sporter
in the past and found it very nice for Skeet
Looking into what's available and have found a Nice Beretta SP1 Sporting 32" .

Personally, I like 32" on a 12 for sporting in an O/U and 30 on a 12 semi; you'll see a lot of folks prefer 32s, but it doesn't matter what any of US thinks - it all comes down to how they feel, balance, and swing for YOU. Try to shoot as many guns as you can before buying and go with the one that "feels" right.

I can " rent' a 30 " SP at the range - no 32" to compare

Depends on the gun. Barrel length affects balance. The one gets you two inches closer to the target!

I just realized my old 30" browning with extended chokes must have added an inch and some weight
So the Beretta at 32 with internal chokes may be about the same if not lighter

I'm going to try and get to range tomorrow, they have a SP1 30" to try. May as well see how that feels
I'm curious about recoil also

It is personal preference. I am 5'10" 218lb. and have shot both 30 & 32"bbls. I prefer 30" with factory extended chokes primarily because of the balance/more lively feel. I shoot clays and FITASC.
28"Bbl for auto.

I've got a complication - local Beretta at 32" is a Left handed stock - that's what I need and seems to fit me well
I can order a 30" left hand but you never know the fit until it's mounted

Buy the gun if it fits. Seems like a no brainer to me. The Optima barrels are pretty light. The 32" weigh about the same as my 30" MC barrels. Both are probably lighter than Browning barrels.

If it's a new gun from a dealer he may let you swap stocks if you wish.

^^^^^This, I've shot 32" Kolar's & a Blazer F3, but prefer my Beretta 682 Gold SS w/a 29-1/2" bbl and Briley X2's. It just seems a bit more "lively" IMO. I'm window shopping for a nice used (read affordable) K80 w/30" bbl.'s though I've read that 32" bbl.'s have better resale value.

I've been going back and forth and feel that 30" would be fine [ for myself that is].
Going to shoot more skeet this year , I can get some extended chokes if needed

I’ve got an “Older” beretta 682 gold E with 32” barrels. Its lighter than my 686 Onyx sporting with28” barrels. Try them out!

I personally like 32 on O/u. 30 on autos. The add another inch and a half with chokes. I like the longer sighting plane and sight picture of the 32 better. But it’s a personal choice. 30 will do just fine. I’m not sure you can get a browning citori CX or CXS in left hand, but the 725 comes in left hand. I have nothing at all against Beretta, but you owe it to yourself to handle some different brands for comparison.

Got the 686 30". In left hand stock. Working well for me

The browning was nice but about $700 more and ported.
