I have acquired a Angelo Zoli set and can't find any info on it. It comes with 2 sets of barrels, one 30" over under and one 32" high rib single. It says Berrazi super lusso on the barrel. Any help is greatly appreciated. Image

Several different firms imported Angelo Zoli guns. As with a number of Italian gunmakers, the fit and finish of Angelo's guns varied in accordance with the importer/distributor's price point. Most of those importers assigned their own model names to the guns. Weatherby imported and sold Angelo's Presentation model as the Weatherby Regency with a fancy AAA grade walnut stock. Many of these guns employed a modified Greener crossbolt locking system. The firm ceased operating in the late 1980's.

FWIW, Angelo Zoli also built SxS double rifles in African calibers for dangerous game. These currently carry values in the mid to high four figure price range.

Your trap combo appears to be the same as Angelo's model St. George Competition (over/under barrels and a bottom single barrel based on the now typical Brescia underbolted action). Is an importer's name and city stamped on the gun?

The published "value guides" estimate the value of this model as: $700.-(VG), $900.-(Exc) and $1,200.-(NIB). As always, check the online auctions for real life prices being paid for the same make and model in like condition.

If you're located Stateside, the lack of an importer's name and city indicates that the gun was a personal import, by someone who had acquired it in Europe. The gun is chambered for 70mm/2-3/4" cartridges and underwent final proof at the Gardone Proof House.

The name Berazzi might be a play on words to fool an inexperienced buyer into thinking they were getting a higher valued Perazzi shotgun. During the early 20th century, Belgian gunmakers employed a number of brand names which resembled well known quality American brands, ie: T. Barker for Parker and so on. Such guns were often sold by hardware stores to unsuspecting buyers.
