While at the state shoot last year there was a gentleman next to me that place a small tone transmitter on the speaker to call for the bird and had a button on the stock of his gun he pushed to make the tone to release the bird.

Anybody know how to get a hold of this man or if he has a website?

Maybe he was mute and he doesn’t want anyone to get ahold of him.

It shouldn't be too hard for someone familiar with electronics to rig up something like that. Ol' Red Green up at Possum Lodge would probably just lash a Freon powered air horn to the gun with duct tape.

BLE, you've given me an idea.

I think I'm going to build and sell a new version of trap gun trigger. The AIR trigger. Combined airhorn and trigger. When you set that thing off right next to your head, the last thing you'll be worrying about is the recoil. I'm sure it'll be the latest fad in trapshooting, and everyone will want one. Might even be qualified for a new version of handicap, depending on volume & tone.

Sorry that idea just struck me as funny. Been a long day in management meetings

This could likely be rigged up to work by anyone reasonably handy with electrical stuff. Just add a battery and a momentary contact switch.

It gives off a 3900 Hz tone which roughly translates to the note B7, the highest B on a piano keyboard, so it's a pretty high pitched beep.

You could easily do this with an inexpensive wireless doorbell.

Perhaps a shooter who has had surgery that resulted in having vocal cords removed could use a referee whistle or maybe a duck call to call for the bird.
