I've loaded Windjammers in AAHS hulls with 20/28 powder and it fits and works fabulous. I don't use any wad pressure on any of my loads in 5 gauges.
For equivalent loads it appears that 20/28 powder will use a Mec bushing 1 or 2 sizes smaller than Universal, so that may be making a difference here.

15.8 gr of Unique. WW hs or cf hull, or STS or Gun club. WJ 20. 7/8 #9, WW primer. Any skeet target that escapes are due to driver error.

Does require a good bit of press micro tweaking to get P-W to load all 3 hulls interchangeably.

If it fits with Unique and it fits with 20/28 then things certainly should fit with Universal. Unique is going to take up a bit more space than Universal and 20/28 is going to take up a bit less.

I load the STS hulls with win type wads, and now the WAA20 for the cheapest cost. Load some AA20HS hulls with one ounce and the SP20 wad. These all work great and are cost effective. If I were to load a 7/8 ounce in the AA20HS hull I would have to use a WIN super dense powder. 20/28 and a RXP20 wad works great but is costly.

I use Windjammers in my 20gauge Winchester AAHS hull loads all the time. I use 20/28, Universal, and even WSF.

Ok I managed to load about 500 AAHS shells and even with 10 grains less shot and confirming I’ve had 15 grains of universal I’m still getting shot popping out the mouth of the shell at the precrimp Stn. I then backed off the precrimp a tad and it stopped the pellets coming out to some extent but every so often I still get shot coming out. All I can work out is I’ve got some off length shells. I tried loading some CF AA and they loaded with no issues. I then loaded some STS shells, increased the powder to 16grn and increased the shot to a full 7/8 and they loaded beautifully with not spewing of shot out the mouth. I cut open an AAHS hull and fitted the WJ wad into it and found that ( in the batch of hulls I have) without any powder, the wad seems to be in almost the same position when loaded ie just a little too high. So at least in my example with the hulls I’ve got the WJ just seems to be too high and I’ll have to go with the RXP or Versalite DRV20 wad.
