I recently purchased an AYA 4 from Simpson Ltd used. It appeared in pretty good shape. I was cleaning and lubing it today and noticed a made in Italy stamp on the barrels. I thought AYA were made in Spain. Could anyone tell me what the deal is?

I may have been fooled. There is nothing on the receiver that indicates AYA. The barrels have made in Italy stamped on the bottom and vapen depoten falun in a circle stamped on top over the chambers

A Google translate shows the vapen depoten falun to be Swedish:

Quote:
weapon depot falun

Perhaps it was imported into Sweden

Looking at the proof marks on both the receiver and barrels it appears that there are only Italian proof marks

I’m curious as to what if anything makes it an AyA. There should be the AyA and left facing lion somewhere in the engraving including the table of the receiver.
