I have a nice older AYA Matador (20g) double, with a single trigger.
If I had to guess, I would say late 60's early 70's vintage.

Rookie mistake - but after removing the barrels to clean, now find
that it evidently needs to be "re-cocked" before replacing the barrels.

Can someone tell me how to do this with the barrels off - or perhaps direct me to
some directions ?

Sincerely appreciate any help/assistance.

In most instances with most doubles, if you have the forearm off, you can hold the lever to the open position, install the barrels and close the action, then replace the forearm. Afterward, you then open the action and this will cock most actions.
I could be completely wrong for this instance, BTW.
