I bought an old grabber from a friend and when I got it home and started setting it up the crimp closing die was flopping around and I can’t find a schematic for the old metal one (which this has) to see what the issue is. All my other loaders are the plastic ones and MEC’s website illustration is showing the same. https://ibb.co/dFxUkJ

Thanks Steve Y
I’m trying to figure out if there is something missing off the metal one because it moves around when its on the machine, I think there’s supposed to be something in that hole below my index finger but I don’t know what it looks like. All my other MECs have the plastic ones like you posted and they’re different so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I’m probably going to have to order the whole assembly in the updated version.

Gary

They are not different, same part different material.
The cam punch comes up through that hole below your finger. It should have a screw driver slot in it for adjustment. Look closely at my picture, just to the left of the roll pin (under/behind the cam) you can see it.

Looks like what you think is a missing part is an alternate location for the cam follower?
I have one of those metal crimpers and it does not have that hole.

Thank you gentlemen! I guess it just has a lot of play in it where the newer models don’t. Curly, I thought there must be something missing cause that threaded hole, that it was something that kept it from wobbling around. I got the collet adjusted and made it around to the crimp station and it worked. I need to adjust the pre crimp and crimp and I should be in business. Thanks again for the replies!
