Ive got a question about a shotgun i just got its an eagle arms 12 ga single shot.I was either going to use it as a bird gun or trade it in but dealers i call say that eagle arms didnt make a shotgun. I even tried sending it with a friend to drop it off with some dealers he knows and they couldnt find it. I would like to know what its worth. Thanks

Eagle Arms was a name used by Crescent Gun Company and your gun is most likely made by them.

However, Eagle Arms was also a gun company in Coal Valley,IL,a name that was used by J.L.Galef on imported guns, and a company that made rifles of the AR15 and the AR180 type(this company was bought by ArmaLite in 1995 and was located at Coal Valley,IL).

Thanks ill try to find it. The only writing on the gun says EAGLE ARMS, 12 guage 3" magnum, and in a crest it has the initials JLC in the three points on one side and on the other sid says gardone v.t. italy m.a.v.i. , companion pat.n.45382-54476,and the same crest again and made in italy on the barel.

The new information seems to point to a Galef import. Crescent predates the Italian made gun by a good 70 years.

I too have this shotgun and am currently having difficulties finding information on it. My dad passed last year and left me his collection of arms, this being one of them and any information would be greatly appreciated. I am really looking for a couple things

1) creation date (estimate)
2) how common is the gun
3) estimated cost

thanks in advance

A5guy - I believe it was Eagle Arms that purchased ArmaLite and then changed their name to ArmaLite to take advantage of the better known name.

The JLC is probably JLG and the " Companion" pretty well ties it down as a Galef ..Bushrod
