I have a very nice double barrel 12 ga single triger hammerless shot gun that my grandfather gave me. Does anyone have any info on these shotguns??
Thanks
Also...Sometimes when i fire the gun both barrels will shoot...as if the first shots recoil will set the second barrel off. Is there anyway to fix this?

I do not know anything about them but I remember that I had found something in the past about them.
Here is a link to a catalog to purchase

Frank Tobin started the company in Norwich in 1904, Tha company was bought out by Canadain investors in 1909, moved it to Woodstock, Ontario, and continued under Tobin Arms, till 1921. They were then bought out by G B Crandall, who continued production till 1951. Tobin made a few very high grade shotguns. They're not rare, but scarce.. I would try Keith Kearcher in Oregon, for repairs.. Bushrod

Frank Major Tobin bought Clarance Wallan's shotgin patent and set up shop in Norwich,CT in 1904 until 1909 then moved to Canada(1910-1916) as Natty said.

A total of about 12,000 Tobins were produced.

References: The Double Gun Journal Vol.5 Issue 1 & Vol.8 Issue 1.

The Gun Report Vol.39(May '94) & Vol.

The Canadian Journal Of Arms Collecting Vol.34 #3

The value of your gun depends on the grade, gauge, features and, most of all, condition. Tobin guns are seldom encountered at high end gun auctions. I have seen them go for as little as $300 and as much as $1395.
