A guy who shots on our trap league has a Beretta BL3 20 Guage O/U for sale. It has fixed chokes M/F. He says it is in excellent condition and has been well maintained. He is bringing it Wednesday night for me to see. He is asking $800.00.

What is this really worth? I did a search and the last posts I found were a year or so old. They said $550.00 to $600.00. Is this still valid?

Thanks
Rick

Seems like a pretty decent price for a fixed choke gun.

The BL-3 is a nice looking pretty well made gun.

There are a couple going on Gunsamerica, 12 gauges, for around $900 right now.

The Blue Book says a 12 ga BL-3 is worth $350-600 depending on condition. At 90% condition it would be worth $470. Add 50% for 20 ga if the condition is 90% or better. That would make a 90% 20 ga worth $705 and 100% worth $900.

I don't put much stock in the asking prices on GunsAmerica. Some of those dealers put rediculous prices on their guns in hope of catching a sucker who doesn't know what he is buying. A lot of those guns never get sold.

The BL series are pretty nice guns. If it as light as some I have seen, it will make a nice live bird gun, but might be too light for target shooting. If you like what you see, offer $600 and see where conversation goes. Older guns are worth more in unaltered condition .... no pads, extra beads, etc.

I have a 20 ga BL3 I picked up about 10 years ago. Nice guns. Nice for all day walking behind a pointer. Well balanced and a good shooter. I think $800 is a decent buy based on the blue book. It'll make a top notch quail gun for you.
