Just out of curiosity, does anyone make a magazine extension and springs for a 12 ga Auto 5? Wouldn't mind giving my A5 the chance to beat my brother's Benelli at a comabt shoot. He does great with pistols, I'm slightly better w/ shotguns.

I'm not aware of a currrent maker. But you see them for sale on the net once in a while.

One more note: Prior to WWII Browning (FN) sold a special Police Contract A5/8 that had a factory 8 shot extended magazine. These guns had enameled (painted) receivers and barrels. They can be identified by the Euporean "POL" marking under the serial number.

I, too would love an A5 mag tube extension. Does anyone know if the threads on a Browning Gold mag tube cap are the same as an A5's. There are a couple of places that sell "Gold" extensions. It might be worth tinkering with one. Only problem I can think of regarding an A5 extension is: How do you brace or support an extension on a shotgun with a reciprocating barrel? You can't use the typical barrel clamp.

Knave, on the A5's the aftermarket extensions were not supported.

rsr1950 (or anyone), how did you modify the (for lack of a better word) crimp at the end of the factory mag tube so that shells would pass? Did you just cut the tube back to where it was straight? And again, anyone know if the mag tube caps on the A5 and Browning Gold are threaded the same? Your help is greatly appreciated.

on the auto 5 there is no crimp at the end of the magazine tube a metal or plastic keeper fits into the magazine end to hold the spring. my A5 extension nor my remington magazine extension will not fit my browning gold.

I think that an A-5 and a BPS have the same threads.
