Could anyone tell me what parts if any on Remington 870/1100/1187's are interchangeable with a Remington 11-48? Are there any aftermarket parts that are interchangeable? I think the stock might be interchangeable with the 1100 model, not sure. Thanks.

cedjunior,

Welcome to Shotgunworld!!

The 48 & the 1100 & 1187 are totally different animals with different operating systems from different eras.

I own some 870s & some 48s, and here is what I have discovered, It's possible the trigger group might be interchangeable, otherwise there are no parts that are interchangeable except the magazine cap. This also allows you to add a mag extension.
A while back, I found a Mohawk 48 which had a bulge at the end of the barrel. I cut the barrel at 18 1/2" , added an extension for an 870/1100/1187, and I then ended up with a decent HD gun.

Yeah I figured as much about the interchangeable parts. Recoil vs pump/gas operated, there is going to be some major differences. I'm glad though that the mag extensions work. I've thought about picking up a spare 11-48 and making it into a house gun like that. I wouldn't dare hack up the one I have now, its got that "sentimental" value.
