Thought I'd take a minute to post a comment about my recent purchase of a Verona LX692. My wife has started shooting clays with us and would mention the kick of my other guns (Fabarm L4S Grey Hunter, Franchi Renaissance both in 12ga) neither of which bother me and both of which I really like (the Fabarm is a FANTASTIC gun and a great value).

I'd also recently shot a friends Ruger Red Label 20ga and really liked it, my wife tried it and like it as well. Had a chance to buy one of those for a good price but then shot a friends LX692 20ga (he's got the 20/28ga combo) and loved it. He was selling his but we couldn't agree on price so I started looking and found someone here on SGW, in state who was selling theirs, which turns out I like better than my friends - better wood and a couple other differences, it has 30" bbls, had a rounded forend vs schaeble and the top lever is a bit different.

I've been shooting the 20ga bbl mostly and have set and tied my personal best with it. I've hunted with it. It's a easy to carry in the field, it shoulders quickly, swings awesome and shoots where you point it. It's a lovely gun to look at and built extremely well. I recently shot the 28ga bbls and was surprised that I shot as well as the 20ga and shoot both better than my Franchi 12ga!

I'm a huge fan and very happy I spent the $$. After shooting it as a 28ga I really wish those shells weren't so damned expensive! It's a great light recoil shooter in either gauge thougth and well worth the money!
