Says NIB. Has choke tubes. Doesn’t look like the Fox branded Savage shotguns I’m familiar with. Is it fakery?

No fakery but also no Ansley H Fox gun because it's a basic A&D boxlock. Savage owns the Fox name so they can legally put it on any gun they wish - and they did. From my perspective too much money for too little gun. YMMV.

$3,000 does not seem like too much for such a gun. True, it is not an orginal Fox but for a gun to use without problems, it would be hard to beat. It is the equivalent of a CSMC RBL model and should be as reliable.

I have owned original Fox gun but can see the usefulness of one of these. The main negative I see is that they are too heavy for the gauge. That probably is so that they are better for heavy loads. YMMV

The gun is essentially the Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company's RBL but with a somewhat differently profiled and engraved receiver. Tony made up this batch for Savage a couple of years ago.

I keep checking that gun out. Someone needs to buy it before I cave.

This one is at least $1,000 less than any others I have seen. I still say a person could do far worse for that amount of money. The cheapest one online from Savage is $4,100.
