In Illinois we are subject to shotgun deer hunting, so in getting ready for the upcoming season we struggle to find sabot slugs to purchase, does anyone else have that issue? Why are there none on the shelf?

It’s not a personal defense load if that’s your point but I guess any load can be used that way

People right now don't care if it's for PD or hunting. If it fits in the gun, goes bang when the trigger is pulled and something comes out the front at high speed they're buying all they an get their hands on.

These are crazy times for anything firearm related. During the last shortage, shotshells didn't seem too hard to get but this time around most everything is scarce.
Where are you located? I have enough for my needs and can spare a box or two if you need some. Send me a PM and we'll see if I can help.

John

I ordered a scope for a benchrest .22 rifle... it's been on order for months!! I'm told that things are weeks/months behind and to be patient..

In the meantime, our club's order for reloading supplies...has also been delayed over 3 weeks.

Hopefully, things will come soon.

I'm not out of sabot slugs, but close. I would like one or two more range trips, but I can't spare the ammo. Plan B is to use the muzzleloader.

Basspro and Cabela's all have them in stock. The guys in the group that use Foster/rifled slugs are SOL, those are hard to find ATM.

Local sportsmans warehouse (which about all that is left in my county) has NO slugs of any kind, and the only buckshot they have is 10 gauge. Walmart pulled all the guns and ammo a couple days ago, but even before that I haven't seen any slugs or buck in months.

I do not know about reloading components, but I do see loaded 10 ga slugs are still available online.
