Hey everyone,

I am in the market for a replacement barrel for a Mossberg SA 20, in 20 gauge. My son has the 24 inch ribbed, and is looking for a 28 inch, for the up coming duck season.

Can anyone let me know, where i can find a replacement barrel? He uses the SA 20 for sporting clays, but due to California's restrictive environmental laws, we have to use "non-toxic" or steel shot ammo for hunting. I don't want to wear out the 24 inch barrel for his sporting clays.

any information is much appreciated

Try www.gunpartscorp.com or Mossberg for a new barrel. I don't think you could 'wear out' a Mossberg SA barrel within 10 lifetimes, IMHO. Just make sure your choke tubes are suitable for steel shot.

I agree about barrel wear. I have never heard of or seen any shotgun barrel that was "worn out", or even scratched to the point of being a problem.

I have two SA-20's and any factory barrel and chokes is suitable for steel shot. You will not have any wear that would not occur with lead shot loads unless you use improperly made steel reloads.

Mossberg Customer Service will probably tell you they don't sell the barrels because the gun is an import, but there is a way to get them easily. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss it.

I saw this discussion from last year and was wondering if the OP ever got a 28 inch barrel for his SA 20. I also have a SA 20 Bantum model with a 24 inch barrel and would like to know where I can get a 28 inch barrel. Thanks for any help.

You can try Mossberg. Shoot me a PM and I'll tell you how I got mine.

Hello All,

Sorry about necro-posting, but I find myself in a bit if a different situation. I have the 28" barrel and am looking for an 18" or 20" barrel. Since I'm new no PMs... Any assistance will be greatly appreciated...
