I have a chance to buy a Browning Citori 1984 . the price he is asking is for a mint shape rifle
has 3 - 4 boxes threw it, but it has a bad clear gloss chip the size of a penny right on top where your cheek bone would rest.

Can a gun smith fill this and make it look 100 %
Is this something I could do .

He wants $800.
I think $700 is fair

IIRC, those guns had an epoxy finish that's difficult to invisibly repair w/o stripping & re-finishing the stock.

That makes it a $600 gun, to me - especially since guns don't have built-in shell counters.

It can be done with super glue,but would still be a bit detectable.
