Old English recoil pads seem pretty nice, but one of mine has become really tacky and sticks to anything it rests on. It’s even got a couple permanent flat spots now from being stored in my safe. Is there a way to prevent / solve the problem or is replacement the only fix?

I agree with oyeme. The old pad is probably breaking down due to age or exposure to something.
